I am an enthusiastic amateur photographer enjoying a wide range of subjects from travel photography to traditional landscapes as well as urban and street environments.
My interest in photography began with traditional black and white film processing and printing whilst studying Industrial Design at Newcastle Upon Tyne Polytechnic in the late 1970’s.
With traditional landscape photography at heart I enjoy hiking in the Lakeland fells where I am captivated by the ever changing and powerful drama of the weather. How it impacts on the landscape and surrounding countryside, observing the interplay between the light, shade and patterns and their relationship between the land and sky above.
However, being a city boy I also enjoy capturing everyday life in an urban environment, being lucky enough in 2020 to be commended in The UK Landscape Photographer Of The Year (LPOTY) in the Urban Life Category.
